I'm really, really bad

So, I decided to start a blog. And here it is! Impressive, isn't it? I have now gotten myself into another internet time-sucking activity.

I thought, "Hey, a blog! A blog is what I need to express myself and allow friends and others to see what we are up to and think nice things about us. All my friends have blogs. Even Rebecca has a blog. I should blog." Never mind Facebook and Myspace (which Jules affectionately calls MyFaceSpace), and the fact that I neither post pictures in a timely manner nor document my life properly in digital photos. I could blog.

And start a blog I did. I waded through all the layout options. I picked a color scheme. I added a blog list of friends' blogs. I even made a post, albeit an extremely short one. Still don't how I even got it to show up. And in all this, I failed to realize one thing.

I am really, really bad at blogging. I have no idea how to even work the stupid thing.

One post. I started this thing on June 25, after days of agonizing over a blog name and address. 2 weeks later, I'm already complaining about how I don't know how to use all the options (seriously--there is no end to how and what one can accomplish, design or broadcast on a blog) and how I don't have time to update it. Not to mention my sweet husband is mildly obsessed with EVE, the computer game, and hogs the computer so he can blow up spaceships in "real time," whatever that means.

Something else I didn't count on: blog envy. Does anyone else have this? For weeks now, I have been silently cruising through blogland-dot-com, reading blogs of people I know by name only, admiring their pictures, layouts and witty posts that are perfect little representations of their lives. I've been editing this post for 3 days now. My life is slightly less than interesting. So I consider this post complete, simply because I can't stand to edit it anymore. Hopefully, as time (most likely a lot of it) passes, I'll get the hang of it.
